Resolution of Seizures & Improvement in Quality of Life in a 22-Year-Old Female with Epilepsy Following Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care

Abstract
Discussion: 22-year-old female with a previous diagnosis of epilepsy presented to our office for care. Orthopedic, thermographic, and x-ray evaluations were performed to determine the location and vector of upper cervical subluxations. Prior to beginning care, the patient completed the QOLIE-89 patient outcome measure. Over the course of 14 office visits, the patient was adjusted 13 times. Upon the completion of the initial phase of care the patient reported cessation of seizure activity. The follow up QUOLIE-89 outcome measure survey showed an improvement of 51.445 points, indicating a significant improvement in quality of life.
Conclusion: This case study adds to a body of evidence of patients showing improvements in seizure activity following chiropractic care. Further study of the effects of subluxation based chiropractic care on seizure activity should be investigated.
